We decided to organize Barcelona-Girona 103 in front of the necessity to promote a route between both cities like a Green Route. We would like to indicate different reasons for the importance of the route:

Firstly, right now there are different routes between Barcelona and Girona as Besos-Mogent river, Tourdera and some Green Routes. We only connect these routes.

We are highlighting that not only would it joins Barcelona and Girona but also it would connects other crowded areas as Mollet del Vallès, Llinars, Sant Celoni, Sils, etc.

Girona is an important cyclist destination. Lots of tourist from Barcelona can be interested in renting a bike and cycle Barcelona to Girona. Moreover, there are lots of green route kilometres in Girona, it would connect Barcelona to these. It would promote the tourism in these area.

Finally, it’s important to underline the importance of giving and promoting a cyclist way out from Barcelona. To go out of the big cities is always a problem due to the fact that if you do not know the area, it’s easy you will end up in a highway or big roads with traffic really dangerous.
